Annie is a powerhouse. Plain and simple.

Not only is she a former champion gymnast and coach, the top producing realtor on Whidbey Island, but she has also won multiple battles with cancer. Powerhouse.

This photoshoot was more than a branding photoshoot. This photoshoot was a celebration and a marker of the next evolution of Annie.

This photoshoot was also a deeply personal mission for me. A mission to help show Annie the truth. After having multiple photographers in the past tell her she was not photogenic and impossible to photograph, I made it my personal mission to prove them wrong and show her the truth … that she is a JOY to photograph!

I always believe the words of my photography mentor, Sue Bryce, “there is no such thing as being photogenic. Being photogenic is just how comfortable you are in front of the camera, and that’s my job as your photographer.” It’s my job to direct you and tell you what to do so you look comfortable and your absolute best. To help you look like you’ve been posing for the camera forever … even if you don’t feel like that in the moment ;).

Needless to say, after looking through the photos below, they prove that EVERYONE is photographable. No matter what anyone says. I gotchu!

Finally, one last thing! PLEASE be sure to stay until the end of the blog when Annie’s son Connor joins the shoot! She said “he is super camera shy like his mom”, but I worked my magic and got killer photos of him! He even said he really liked being photographed by me! And for a 16 year old guy to say that … it’s the ULTIMATE compliment!

A little behind the scenes action for you with Madeline! Not only does Mads get BTS content for my Instagram stories, but she is a professional diffuser holder! When the sun is bright and there isn’t a cloud in the sky (a natural diffuser), Madeline steps in to soften the light! Snaps for Mads!

Can we have a little commotion for the dress??

This location was a massive beachfront mansion compound with so many different nooks and crannies to tell so many different stories! I LOVE the warmth and cozy vibes of the cabin section of the main house!

Annie is a MASSIVE supporter of local Whidbey Island and Oak Harbor events, including the Music Festival every year! She also is a fantastic piano player, so the tee-shirt + piano provided the perfect on brand backdrop!

One of the hallmarks of Annie’s service is that she provides a pre inspection for all of her sellers! Working hands on with her inspectors is something she does on the daily and something I really wanted to illustrate since it’s a unique service she offers!

The red heart glasses and a Corona on the beach is a signature look on a summer day for Annie!

Whidbey Island is a military base, so I brought my big American flag for not only 4th of July photos but for photos she can use to create content to honor veterans and/or announce military family events she’s a part of!

The American Flag on the beach vibes were really giving me Rolling Stone cover vibes, am I right!? Annie is an absolute rock star, so it’s fitting!

… and now for my favorite photos with her son Connor!

Connor and Annie are highly involved in the Oak Harbor sports scene, especially with Wildcats Baseball, so having them wear Wildcats swag for their photos made complete sense and was on brand for this duo!
